For Stacy, a Warren County parent, it was her daughter who first connected her to Head Start.  Stacy’s daughter is enrolled at the Marvin Marks Community Development Center’s Head Start program through Youth In Need. During a recent meeting with Cammie Maue, the center’s director, Stacy expressed surprise that Head Start staff wanted to discuss her goals. She said she hadn’t thought about a career or goals for herself since before her first child was born. Cammie talked to her for 45 minutes about school applications, financial aid, and programs that could help with mileage to school. By the next time she met with Cammie, Stacy had enrolled in a vocational school and was asking for help finding a part-time job. Because Cammie believed in her, Stacy said, she believed in herself.
