Dan and Michelle, of St. Charles County, married very young.  They separated shortly after Michelle discovered she was pregnant.  Michelle enrolled in Youth In Need’s prenatal Head Start program. She continued working with a home visitor after the baby was born and eventually enrolled her child in a Head Start community partner center, where she also now works.  With help and support from Head Start staff, Dan was able to overcome his drug problem and re-involve himself in his family’s life.  The parents have reconciled, and Dan is the policy council representative for the fatherhood committee, while Michelle is the chair of her parent committee and a policy council representative, in their county.
